Can you hold a beat?
Good times yet to be had…
You want something FUN, complex, and challenging?
FORGET GUITAR HERO- PLAY THE REAL THING!!!
Go pick up an instrument. Most opt for a acoustic guitar or electric strat-o-caster.
Some drop bass…(even uprights)…
(All a sudden all of those forced piano lessons(with your fat fingers) in school start to make sence….)
Thing to keep in mind-
Bring your wallet Quality instruments are pricey(a mild fortune or paycheck) You will have to LEARN, LEARN, LEARN and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE The best teachers know industry secrets to learning something FAST. Is the instrument out of tune? Can you figure out how to re-tune or fix the instrument(were you too cheap)? Are you playing it correctly? Are you holding it correctly? Are you playing Drop-D,Drop-C, Drop-Double D, etc?
You dont have to spend a fortune on lessons, but you need to find people willing to teach.
Youtube can only help so much.
Its ok to be a beginer- but LEARN SOMETHING.
Play SOMEthing you enjoy…
Learn how the masters got there….
ENJOY the ride.
Grab a drum pad if nothing else.
And techno(easy) or fuity loop(GarageBand/LMMS) mixing can get you going quickly.
DONT- remix like a DJ…Drop something of your own from what they start you off with.
BE YOU. ENJOY the FUN.
- AND BRING YOUR WALLET! (Sweetwater and zzounds can help with financing, should you need it).
Dont buy this Epiphone Strato-hellraiser, PLEASE~ DONT BUY IT~ It sounds like shit.
Its the one pictured above on ebay and amazon, shipping from or made in china by Jackson, Davidson, etc.
Epiphone Fender Ibanez Kona(acoustic) Peavey(amp) Marshall(amp)
Just because it looks cool or IS CHEAP- doesnt mean quality.
There are good cheap guitars(from knockoff companies), however,
DAVIDson(fake Fender/LesPaul frank-en-taur) JackSON Washburn (fake Ibanez)
etc…are not worth your time.
Lack of QC IS A BIG DEAL.
This isnt jsut a “final glance check”, this is playability, harmonics, tuning, part fit testing, etc.
Some even wax or otherwise coat thier guitars, which are only supposed to be oil coated (and buffed w car wax on the body).
Frets make a YUGE difference, they are not just there for looks.
And theres(basic) electronics-
Type of humbucker Humbucker vs single coils(2-3) Type of capacitors used quality of potentiometers(pots) used Shielding in coil pickup cavaties
While the wiring is simple, a guitar is anything but.
